Wow. Well, I forgot how time consuming it is to make gumbo. It's a really rewarding meal though. The more quality time I spent with my gumbo, I couldn't wait to eat it!
The nutty aroma of the roux made me know I was doing it right. This is prob the most nerve wrecking part because if it's burned, it's OVER.
9:00 PM and I've only added the holy Trinity: celery, Bell peppers, and onions
It's finally done!!
Added shrimp to the gumbo. ☺️
My adjustments: 2 tbs creole seasoning, 3 tsp gumbo file, no andouille sausage, and used vegetable broth instead
